Visit the Calligraphy gallery...Calligrapher and Graphic Designer, Janis Snell is the founder of Navy Bean Designs, a stylish wedding stationery studio.  Janis has always had a passion for art and calligraphy which flourished under the guidance of her beloved high school art teacher.  She then went on to get her BA in Art History and a minor in Visual Arts at Fordham University in New York City. 

Janis began her career working at House Beautiful magazine and then moved over to Brides and Modern Bride magazines.  There she honed her graphic design and event planning skills and realized creating stylish events was her passion.  After taking several lessons from the famed calligrapher, Harriet Rose, she began calligraphing wedding invitations for her friends. 

Visit the Stationery Design gallery...Eventually after planning her own wedding, Janis realized that there was a market void for the-day-of stationery suites.  Yes, there were plenty of stationers to choose from when picking wedding invitations but there were few places to get complimenting ceremony programs, menus, customized tags, and stickers without spending an arm and a leg.  Janis started to design these stationery suites while incorporating her calligraphy for friends. Word of mouth spread and referrals started coming in. 

She then realized she could actually turn her passion into a business.  Janis has worked with clients nationwide, producing gorgeous one-of-a kind stationery suites to create an unforgettable event.
